Born in India of missionary parents, brought up in a faith-centered family and further nurtured in a conservative Christian college, Dr. Davis was surprised how easily he was deceived during his Family Practice Residency into thinking abortion is a compassionate way of dealing with crisis pregnancy. Becoming involved in a late-term abortion helped open his eyes to the real tragedy of abortion but also to the underlying problems and long-term solutions for families in crisis.
Dr. Davis has practiced family medicine in Wichita since 1977. He founded HopeNet in 1991. The deep pain and disorder he sees everyday across the diverse economic and educational strata of his patients convinces him that HopeNet is a rich resource of love, learning and healing. HopeNet, he says, is uniquely able to reach out to many of his patients previously under-served at their core being. “As a result of new-found hope and purpose, lives are changed on a daily basis. HopeNet has become an extension of my practice in that it is able to give my patients the time and special attention they need.
“The professional and Christ-like way in which the staff of HopeNet is able to care for my broken patients and peel back the baked-on layers of pain is a tribute to its core mission and vision.”
Dr. Davis considers his greatest achievement the growth and development of his family. He and his wife of 40 years, Carol, have four grown sons, four daughters-in-law, and 10 grandkids, including a set of 4 ½-year old quadruplets.” He deeply enjoys his practice at Primary Care Associates where he is joined by nine other physicians in a center designed to help heal the whole person.
