An Event to Benefit HopeNet
Sunday, September 10, 2017
Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview Wichita
Dinner will be served.
The evening will begin with a Dessert Auction with pies from Livingston’s Diner and Pie Shop
Featuring Amy Simpson, national speaker, coach and author of Troubled Minds: Mental Illness and the Church’s Mission and Anxious: Choosing Faith in a World of Worry. Amy will tell her story of walking with her mother through mental illness and share how we can build a community of love in our churches and in our community. Amy’s writing is featured in Christianity Today, Leadership Journal, Q Ideas and Today’s Christian Woman.
We will also hear from Wichita Chief of Police Gordon Ramsay and Newman University basketball coach Mark Potter. Chief Gordon Ramsay came to Wichita in 2016 with over 20 years of policing experience. His focus is building and strengthening relationships within our city as means of reducing crime and building trust in the community. Mark Potter served as the men’s basketball coach at Newman University for over 30 years and holds the record there for the most wins. After his own
battle with severe depression, Coach Potter has been reaching out to others to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and lead others to get help.
