Mental Health Therapist
Perry Malzahn is a professional mental health counselor. She is experienced with working with a wide variety of clients, including individuals dealing with trauma, grief or chronic conditions and families working through communication struggles and unhealthy relating patterns. Perry practices social work with the belief that we are called by God to lift one another up and provide hope and encouragement; ideas consistent with the mission of HopeNet.
Perry is a synthesizer and facilitator, helping clients and training attendees connect new ideas with what they already know. She brings in up to date research and science to her therapy strategies and her educational seminars, facilitating group discussions and constructive conversation. She excels in helping clients address difficult topics and understand different points of view.
Perry began her career working with children and adolescents in the foster care system before venturing into serving individuals in hospital settings. Perry has worked on Pediatric and NICU units in hospitals but most recently was a therapist in a psychiatric and substance use dependence hospital in Kansas City.
Perry was raised in Wichita but has been living in Kansas City for the past decade. Her family plays a significant role in her life which was her driving force to return home. Her hobbies include teaching tennis, bowling, and spending time with family.
